Conditions of use

• The conditions are applied only to the use as Letter Pack Plus or Letter Pack Light.
• You can send correspondences.

Sending correspondence

• The weight must be up to 4kg. Items heavier than 4kg cannot be accepted.
• The thickness of Letter Pack Light must be up to 3cm. Items thicker than 3cm cannot be accepted.
• Letter Pack Plus with a delivery certificate that came off cannot be accepted.
• Letter Pack Plus can be sent by either depositing in a post box (cannot be accepted in some post boxes), at a postal counter or by collection. It is delivered to the addressee face-to-face with receipt seal or signature required. If the addressee is absent, the item is brought back to the delivering post office by leaving a non-delivery notice.
• Letter Pack Light can be sent by either depositing in a post box (cannot be accepted in some post boxes) or at a postal counter. It is delivered to mailboxes. If the item does not fit in the mailbox, the item is brought back to the delivering post office by leaving a non-delivery notice.
• Envelopes notably damaged or with certain processing including cutouts cannot be accepted.
• Please ensure that the adhesive tape to secure the enclosure does not cover the postage mark on the front side.
• Letter Packs with a contaminated or damaged postage mark cannot be accepted nor exchanged.
• Letter Packs without a contaminated or damaged postage mark can be exchanged for new ones (with charge). The purchased Letter Pack cannot be refunded, cashed or exchanged with stamps.
• Please refrain from sending the following items in Letter Pack.
  • Fragile items such as glass or ceramics
  • Fragile items such as sensitive instruments
  • Perishable items such as living matters
  • Items that are difficult to replace such as art works
• Letter Pack is uncovered by the compensation system even when there is an accident during the delivery.

Compensation of the damages of postal items

• Letter Packs cannot be sent with valuables such as cash/precious metals, or hazardous materials such as explosives or poisonous/toxic materials inside.
• Items without a description of the content or including the following are delivered with means of transport other than aviation, so it may take time for delivery.
  • Items prohibited or limited in terms of transportation under the Civil Aeronautics Act or other laws, or by orders, rules or demands by public agencies
  • Items with which the airline companies restrict acceptance
• Letter Pack Plus cannot be used with optional services other than acceptance-recorded mail.
• Letter Pack Light cannot be used with any optional service.
• Letter Packs cannot be sent overseas.
• Other handling conditions conform to the Conditions of Domestic Postal Mail.
