Sending mail to Brazil

March 26, 2024

Correios, the postal operator of Brazil, has informed Japan Post that customs inspection for mail items addressed to Brazil has been strengthened.

Therefore, there will be a greater risk that international mail items sent to Brazil with insufficient/inaccurate electronic advance data (EAD) or without the tax identification number or passport number of the addressee1, information that is necessary for customs inspection in Brazil, may be delayed or returned to the sender.

Please use the International Mail My Page Service to ensure that correct EAD is sent.
