Are there any points to note about sending international mail?

Please note the following points when sending international mail.

Regarding the recipient's address

Recipient's phone number

For mail containing items that may be subject to customs inspection, the recipient may be contacted by the Customs Office in the destination country to facilitate and expedite the inspection. In order to enable this contact, we advise senders to indicate the recipient's phone number if possible.

Indication of forwarding not required

In case the recipient has changed his/her address and forwarding of the mail is not required, please clearly indicate that in a language understandable in the destination country (for instance, "Forwarding not required" in English, or "Ne pas réexpédier" in French) in an easy-to-see place on the recipient's address side.

Others

Whenever possible, we ask that the names and addresses of the sender and the recipient be written inside the mail or put on a piece of paper enclosed in the mail.

When sending multiple mail items at one time

Please notify the sending post office of the following information in advance whenever possible. We also appreciate your cooperation in case we ask you to sort your mail by type and by destination country/territory.
