About Optional Services

Usage Requirements and Precautions

  1. As a printed matter is a standard mail similar to letters and postcards, it is not registered. If you want your postal item to be registered, please use the optional service of “Registered Mail” or “Advice of delivery”.
  2. When sending items which may be subject to customs inspection, such as books and periodicals with monetary value, customs declaration forms (CN22/CN23) and EAD transmission are mandatory. Such items must therefore be sent with labels created via the International Mail My Page Service*.
Please note that especially when sending books and calendars as printed matter, items may be subject to customs inspection in the destination country/territory and returned to the sender due to a missing customs declaration form or EAD.
    • Regarding shipping type, please select "Printed Matter" or "Printed Matter (registered)".

    International Mail My Page Service

  3. Please write “Printed Matter” in the left upper corner of the address side of your postal item (in case there is a sender's address and name written there, please write “Printed Matter”under them).
  4. When sending printed matter, in principle, it is necessary to be able to open the package to check the contents.
