Trouble Regarding International Mail What are the procedures for a compensation claim regarding the damaged or missing postal items? |
Either a sender or receiver can make a compensation claim for the postal item. (In case where International Express Mail service was used only a sender can make a compensation claim.)
However, in cases when only a part of the parcel's contents is stolen or missing and delivered to the receiver; or when the item is damaged and delivered to the receiver, the latter has to preserve the postal item in the current condition and make a statement regarding the missing part of the package or damaged item in the local Post Office.
In cases of non-delivery, theft, partial loss or damage of the postal item, please first submit a Search Request or Tracking Request and wait for the result. If it is determined that a compensation claim is applicable in the situation, please proceed to the compensation claim application. Please fill out all the required fields in a “Compensation Claim Form” that will be prepared by the Branch assigned by the Postal Company.
