Do you have difficulty finding a coin locker on the street, or are they always occupied? Just go to the post office and we’ll take care of your luggage. We can also store small items like shopping bags, musical instruments or simply clothes. Contact the nearest post office and ask for details.

Make a reservation for luggage storage before or during your trip. Once the spot is secured, no more coin lockers are needed. Simply bring your luggage to the post office where you made your reservation. Show the staff your reservation and we’ll take care of the rest. Check the nearest post office from the map below and make your reservation at any time.

The Kyoto Central Post Office offers temporary luggage storage and luggage delivery services to visitors. Located directly outside of the Kyoto Station Central Exit (1F), the post office is convenient and easy-to-find. You’ll no longer need to search for coin lockers anymore.

• Explosives, munitions, and flammable items
• Goods value exceeding 300,000 JPY
• Arms and sharp items (knives)
• Cash, jewelry, gems or other valuable items
• Livestock and plants
• Fresh items subject to decomposition
• Items requiring refrigeration
• Items prohibited to be possessed, exposed or transferred by law
• Other items that are banned based on the judgement of Japan Post office staff
