Postal Delays Due to Heavy Snowfalls in the Northeast and Central USA
February 3, 2011
We announced the postal delays due to heavy snowfalls in the Northeast USA (New York State etc) on December 28 and January 13.
As of February 3, since there are continued snowfalls in the Northeast (New York State etc), Central, and West USA (Chicago etc) as well as airport closures and flight cancellations due to the weather conditions in the Southeast USA (Atlanta State etc), extensive postal delays may continue for a long period of time.
Please also note that delivery of a part of air mail items addressed to the USA may also take several more days than usual for a certain period of time due to such reasons as, apart from snow, airport security enforcement measures, changes into the transfer routes as well as availability of space for loading postal cargo on board the aircrafts.
