Regarding Temporary Suspension of acceptance of USA-addressed postal items carried by aircraft

Japan Post Service Company (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo-to, Representative Director: Shinichi Nabekura) has announced that, due to the elimination of air transportation of postal items over 453 grams (16 ounces) in weight following the airport security enforcement recently put in place in the USA to counter possible terrorist threats, acceptance of these postal items will be suspended for the time being from November 17, 2010.
We will make a relevant announcement if or when the situation changes.
Suspended Postal Items
Mail items that apply to all of the following conditions:
|Destination Country||Mail Type||Weight limit||Payment Methods|
|USA and American Territories (Guam, Saipan, Wake Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Midway Island, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and American Virgin Islands)||The following items mailed by aircrafts:
||Over 453 Grams（16 Ounces）||In principle, all the payment methods except post-payment or payment by franking machines (Example of unacceptable methods: postage stamps, etc.）|
Air mail less than 453 grams (16 ounces) and Sea mail are acceptable as per normal service.
