Handling of postal items and Yu-Pack parcels due to the impact of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake

Due to the impact of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant caused by the Great East japan Earthquake, we are still unable to accept or deliver postal items and Yu-Pack parcels in some areas in Fukushima Prefecture (please refer to the List of Areas with Delivery Difficulty, Exhibit 2). We have been constantly reviewing the services in these areas, and would like to make a notification on the current situation as follows.
We apologize for the continuous inconvenience and would like to ask for your kind understanding.

  1. We do not accept delivery and collection of postal items and Yu-Pack parcels in areas with delivery difficulty.
  2. Postal items and Yu-Pack parcels sent to an address in areas with delivery difficulty are sent back to the sender unless a notification of a change of address, a customer identification sheet (sent to the destination of evacuation) or a request to receive them at a post office has been submitted.
We also ask the receivers who have a place of residence within the areas with delivery difficulty to submit the above notifications as far as possible.
  3. The post offices handing the postal items and Yu-Pack parcels sent to customers who have a place of residence within the areas with delivery difficulty are listed in Exhibit 2.
For customers who request to receive items at a post office or who are changing the receiving post office, we ask them to fill out the sheet provided in post offices listed in Exhibit 2, or write down on any sheet of paper the name, address, contact number and the request to receive postal items at XX Post Office or to change the receiving post office to XX Post Office, and submit it to the post office at which you request to receive the items.
  4. The postal items and Yu-Pack parcels sent to customers who have submitted a notification of a change of address may take time for forwarding. Please be aware of this, especially when sending refrigerated Yu-Pack parcels.
The expiration date for forwarding according to a notification of a change of address is one year from the date of submission. Please submit a notification again to the nearest post office to extend the service.
