Delays in mail delivery due to explosions at Tianjin Port in China

China Post has notified Japan Post that the explosions at Tianjin Port in China on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, severely damaged the port facilities, including customs and quarantine buildings. In order to continue surface mail service, some changes in the surface mail transport route and other additional operational arrangements are required in China.
Consequently, there may be delays in conveying and delivering surface mail to China. There may also be delays in the arrival of surface mail sent from China to Japan.
