Handling of Overseas Bound Dangerous Items for Air Transport that cannot be sent as International Mail

April 19, 2012

Please note that for the reasons of the airport security enforcement, after the mail has been handed in, it is examined with the use of X-ray to identify whether it includes any dangerous items for air transport that cannot be sent as international mail and if such are discovered, the sender may be questioned about the content of the package.
For the reason above, it might take additional time before the item is dispatched from Japan to overseas. The items the content of which was determined to contain dangerous items for air transport that cannot be sent as international mail may be returned to sender or other measures may be taken. Please be aware that in such cases, we would be generally unable to refund the postage fee paid by the sender initially.
