Postal items falling under the conditions below will be handed over directly to the addressees at our branches or collection and delivery centers (both referred to here simply as branches.) as indicated in the attached table(PDF23kByte)(1).

  1. Postal items sent to the area where people have been instructed to stay inside
  2. Addressees of who have still not notified Japan Post of a new mailing address or their present location, such as evacuation center.

Please note that this delivery procedure will be in effect until Saturday, April 16 at the branches involved(PDF23kByte).
From Sunday, April 17, postal items arriving at the branches and addressed to persons who have not notified Japan Post of their current location will be returned to the sender.

Before going to the branches serving to your current address to receive your postal items, you are kindly asked to telephone the branch(PDF23kByte) in advance. In addition, please bring some identification with you. If you go there without phoning first, it will take a little more time to receive your postal items. Your kind understanding and cooperation would be very much appreciated.

Additionally, if you wish to receive your postal items at a specific branch after April 10, please write your name, address and phone number on a piece of paper along with your request to receive your postal items at the branch, submit it to a clerk at one of the listed branches.(2)

(1) Normally, collection and delivery centers do not hand over postal items directly to the addressees. Therefore, only the collection and delivery centers listed in the attachment(PDF23kByte) will provide delivery service at the counters. Your kind understanding would be appreciated.
(2) If you have already submitted a notification of your current evacuation address to Japan Post, your postal items will be delivered to you as soon as the necessary preparations have been completed.
However, if you wish to receive your postal items at on of the branches listed in the attachment(PDF23kByte), please write your name address and phone number on a piece of paper along with your request to receive your postal items at a certain branch, and submit it to a counter clerk at one of the listed branch.
  • On April 4, delivery service at the counters was planned to provide to Saturday, April 9. This time, we decide to extend date limit of the service to Saturday, April 16.
  • Please note that the branches providing this service may change or additional branches may be added according to the situation in the future.
