Change in design of International Reply Coupon from Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

Sales of the newly designed International Reply Coupon are due to start on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
Sold for 150 yen, it will be exchangeable in Japan for stamps to a value of 130 yen, or for stamps for an international postcard or letter.
International Reply Coupon’s presently on sale have an expiry date that they can be exchanged by.
Any International Reply Coupon that has been purchased, or sent from overseas, that bears the words “A échanger jusqu’au 31.12.2009”(i.e., "To be exchanged by December 31, 2009”), should be exchanged by that date.
Please be aware that any International Reply Coupon that has gone beyond its expiration date cannot be exchanged.
Among International Reply Coupons issued in Japan until December 21, 2001, there are those with no expiry date and which can therefore still be exchanged.

  • Coupons purchased overseas
    cannot be exchanged for postage stamps, etc.(※)
  • Coupons purchased in Japan
    can be exchanged for postage stamps, etc., for the foreseeable future.
2 Coupons on sale from January 1, 2002 to August 31, 2006.

December 31, 2006 The expiry date having already passed, these cannot be exchanged for postage stamps, etc.
3 Coupons on sale from September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2009.

December 31, 2009 May be exchanged for 130 yens’ worth of postage stamps, etc., per International Reply Coupon before the expiry date displayed on it.
4 Coupons on sale from September 1, 2009.
