Delay Notification Regarding Customs Clearance Procedures for the Postal Items with Content in Excess of 200,000 JPY in Total Value as well as Postal Items with Content in Excess of 200,000 JPY in Assessment Value

February 18, 2009

Under the revised Customs Tariff Act, starting from February 16th, 2009 (Monday), all postal items sent overseas with content in excess of 200,000 JPY in value as well as items received from overseas with content in excess of 200,000 JPY in assessment value are subject to Customs Clearance Procedures. One should submit a Shipper’s Declaration Form to the Customs and gain relevant permission.
As a result of this revision our company has started providing intermediary services for Customs Clearance Procedures, but as we are carrying out follow-up work regarding the documents necessary for completing a customs declaration it takes up to several days until actual declaration can be submitted to the Customs.
Therefore in cases where we are entrusted to provide intermediary services for Customs Clearance Procedures the following time schedule is applied for delivery of goods sent from Japan or received from abroad.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
